is a surf photography web site. However
it is not supposed to be a photograpghy portfolio site but rather a site to document sessions at a variety of spots.

ChappyPix is also not exclusively for the "pro" or "named" board-riders and a large portion of the galleries are made up of the so called "under-ground" riders who rip. My main focus, however, are the up-and-coming younger surfers (male and female) who are just starting to make a name for themselves.

I have been shooting on-and-off since 1998 or so, but in 2006 started to take my photography more seriously and have since had a number photo's published in ZigZag, Salt Water Girl surf (no longer with us), magazines and local newspapers..

I see myself primarily as a specialist surf photographer who is wiling to learn other "disciplines" on demand.
I have recived some photographic training from the National Collage of Photography where i have obtained a certificate in "Dynamic Photography".
I have been lucky enough to have received invaluable pointers and advice from some of the leading surf photographers in the country. I have also done my own research in to basic and advanced photographic techniques and I have also paid special attention to acquiring a good camera and field craft.
I also have a BCOM degree with majors in Marketing and Economics.
